The LSU presidential search committee has added an additional applicant to consider at the meeting on Wednesday.
University of Alabama Provost James Dalton is the newest addition to the candidate list. The search committee now has five applicants.
The other four candidates are current LSU Interim President Matt Lee, McNeese President Wade Rousse, former Arizona President Robert Robbins and Tulane Vice President of Research Giovanni Piedimonte.
There were previously six candidates that the committee formally voted to move forward with and ask to apply. Two of them didn’t appear on the committee agenda. Those two were South Carolina Vice President of Research Julius Fridriksson and a candidate who chose to remain anonymous during the interest phase.
The LSU Board of Supervisors announced they will officially select the next university president Tuesday.
