LSU Men’s Basketball Head Coach Matt McMahon addressed the media following the Tigers dominant home opening win against Tarleston State.
McMahon opened by expressing pride in his team’s performance and the effort displayed on both sides of the ball.
“As I’ve told y’all going in, I love our team and they’re a lot of fun to coach,” McMahon said on the chemistry within his team.
He said the group’s chemistry and unselfishness were also contributors to setting the tone for the 2025–2026 season despite a whole new roster.
“For having so many guys, it’s impressive to see how connected they are here early in the season,” McMahon said.
The victory also marked a personal milestone for Coach McMahon, who celebrated his 200th career win as a head coach.
McMahon said the team is looking to build on the momentum from Wednesday’s win as LSU prepares to host New Orleans on Monday, Nov. 10 in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
