One of the country’s top prospects in the 2026 class Lamar Brown has signed with LSU, the school announced on Friday.
Brown is the No. 2 player in the 2026 class according to 247Sports, with some outlets giving him the top spot.

Brown attends University High School, LSU’s on-campus grade school, and has been committed to the Tigers since July 2025.
Brown is listed as an athlete in his recruiting profiles, primarily because of his skills as both an offensive and defensive lineman.
Brown’s future at LSU was up in the air following a report Tuesday night that LSU’s top-ranked commits, Brown and five-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson, would possibly hold off signing in the early window.
Anderson signed on Wednesday, and had another top-100 player join him as No. 3 defensive lineman in the country Deuce Geralds signed on Friday.
LSU had some trouble getting Brown’s signature after the staff shakeup following Lane Kiffin’s arrival in Baton Rouge.
With a large part of Ole Miss’ offensive staff coming to LSU, that created uncertainty for the current LSU coaches and their futures, including defensive coordinator Blake Baker.
Another staff uncertainty is interim head coach Frank Wilson. Wilson had been Brown’s primary recruiter.
There is currently no indication as to the future of anyone that was on LSU’s staff before Kiffin came over, but some clarity may come as the signing window closes Friday night.
Regardless of the hurdles, LSU was able to land their top targets and aim to finish as a top-10 recruiting class in this cycle.
