The Stockade Bed and Breakfast in collaboration with the Little by Little foundation hosts free French language practice every second Saturday of the month.
The attendees range from native French speakers and LSU professors to eager beginners in the language.
The topics of conversation vary and change every week, some with specific themes like discussing king cake and other sessions just containing free discussion.
The founder of the program, Nancy Little is a French speaking beginner and believes in the importance of sharing and preserving Louisiana’s French culture and roots.
“I want people to feel good about coming here and practicing their French, in hopes that when we do have our French tourists here that we are able to visit with them.” Says Little.
The sessions are about more than just speaking and practicing French, they’re about creating a community of people who are passionate about French language and culture.
