On Monday night, the LSU Tigers baseball team played against the Northeastern Huskies, taking a loss against the Huskies, going 13-10.
After the second inning lead to an early lead for Northeastern, bringing the Huskies their first home run of the game. Northeastern scored on two LSU with two unearned runs and made it four runs in one frame.
The third run brought the Huskies’ six runs on the home plate with Aschettino adding an RBI single followed by three runs to add to the lead. Another RBI was added by Feinberg, with an additional Huskies’ unearned run, which pushed Northeastern to a massive score advantage.
In the fourth inning, Milam delivered an RBI on the center of Skip Bertman Field, getting LSU a run.
In the seventh inning, LSU went for three runs as Reaves helped load bases with Patrick, Serna Jr., and Yorke doing a walk and wild pitch helped the Tigers catch up for a closer game.
The eighth inning was Yamin IV, in the left field with a two-run homer and two RBIs.
In the ninth, the LSU Tigers gave one final push, with them ultimately falling short after Ruckert helped score Clauss, and Harden with a right side RBI. With a wild pitch lined up, the Tigers were unable to successfully follow through.
LSU starter Cooper Williams was charged with the loss after four runs were surrendered in the first four runs of the opening innings. Northeastern’s Ryan Griffin was credited with the Huskies’ win with two runs out of four hits.
On the offense, Yamin IV, pulled through with two RBIs and a home run. The Tigers’ Milam helped with the two RBIs and Ruckert and Harding’s single RBI contributions toward the end of the game.
The Tigers’ rank 11-2 and look to bounce back on Wednesday night in Alex Box against University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
