LSU Gymnastics Head Coach Jay Clark and Assistant Coach Haleigh Bryant addressed the media ahead of hosting the 2026 NCAA Regional Tournament.
Coach Clark touched on what the team is looking to improve on heading into the remainder of the post season, following a 3rd place finish in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the 2026 SEC Championships.
Clark shared some updates on injuries and sickness that occurred the day of the meet by adding, “I don’t really feel like we were really all that bad, we had a lot of things going on behind the scenes…things that we don’t really come in here and talk about sometimes”
Clark then talked about how the team has taken the time to recover and is set to be back on track for this week’s upcoming Regional.
“Right now less is more from a physical standpoint, I just want them to believe in their capability and be the team they’ve been all year long.”
Assistant Coach and former LSU Gymnast Haleigh Bryant reflected on her time as a Tumbling Tiger facing Regionals and spoke with the team about how to maintain that stress.
“Yes it’s a very stressful time of year but we’ve done these routines so many times, I’m just setting them up to do what they do every single day” Spoke Bryant.
Bryant has played an important role this season on the mental and physical side of coaching by utilizing her past expertise.
Both coaches spoke on the importance of using the home advantage to the best of their abilities.
Clark finished by adding how the team should take hosting a regional to their fullest advantage stating “I want it to be comfortable. That’s why we enjoy hosting and being in our environment on our equipment should be an advantage for us.”
“I know it’s Easter weekend and I wish that wasn’t the case but hopefully our fans can still come out,” said Clark.
Fans can find the Tumbling Tigers back in action Thursday, April 2 for the semi-finals and Saturday, April 4 for the regional final in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
