Let’s get straight to the news (or lack thereof):
1. BlackBerry ramps up advertising
Android and iOS users, prepare for some unique advertisements. BlackBerry is showing off its new operating system through a series of pretty ingenious mobile advertisements.
The ads will fill the screen of whatever device you happen to be using with the BB10 home screen, and let you swipe through set elements of the OS.
It’s smart advertising, though it’s been done before — kind of. When Microsoft was pushing WP7, there was a mobile website that ran a form of the operating system through the internet browser.
2. Windows Blue
An early version of the next version of Windows, Windows Blue, leaked online Sunday.
Though the build that leaked is no doubt in pre-alpha development, there were some cool features shown:
The Metro home screen now shows more, smaller Live Tiles and apps can “snap” to either side of the display for multitasking.
So far, it just appears the new version contains aesthetic updates. But we’ll see what more Microsoft has in store when they officially announce Windows Blue.
