Student Government has created a new Honor Pledge. The pledge of honor created last semester went into effect this fall. Students who sign it vow to advocate academic honesty, betterment and accountability.
Also permits our faculty and staff to sign to uphold our students to the best standard. Also our students will sign it to uphold our other students, said Director of Academic Shelby Sherman.
This means that if someone sees a student cheating, they are expected to report it. The pledge however does not affect how the university punishes students who are caught cheating.
Soon, the honor code will be displayed in the testing center, the dean of student’s office and other places around campus. Some students may also start to see it on test.
