Tuning into anything produced by MTV, we’re ready for something jaw-dropping. The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards was no exception. If you missed it, here’s the top 10 moments everyone will be talking about between classes.
10. Jared Leto’s Hair
It doesn’t do any favors for him, or any of us.
9. Britney Spears Spoke
I love when Spears opens her mouth. We don’t hear from her much nowadays, but it was nice to see her return to the platform that solidified her legend status.
8. Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian Shots
I didn’t know two acquaintances standing in complete silence could be so awkward. It was like a trainwreck and I didn’t know if I should continue to watch it or not. I’m applauding the producers for giving us the honor to watch this play out during West’s never-ending speech.
8. Demi Lovato
The performance was called “Cool For the Summer,” but the performance wasn’t too hot. The wise JoJo once came out with a hit song, “Too Little Too Late,” and it perfectly describes Lovato’s performance tonight.
6. Justin Bieber crying
“The Biebz” has been on the “good-guy” public relations train for a while now and it’s time for it to slow down. After completing a solid and tame performance, Bieber starts crying. I wanted to enjoy the performance without tears, or him proving he’s changed.
5. Cyrus eating Edibles with snoop dogg
I would think MTV would want the drug references to be a little cheekier. After many anti-smoking commercials, the VMAs showed Cyrus going on a psychedelic trip with Snoop Dogg. Obviously whoever controlled the advertising didn’t talk to the show writers. Or knew anything about Cyrus.
4. Cyrus and Nicki Minaj’s “fight”
Minaj blasted Cyrus in her acceptance speech and Cyrus had a well-rehearsed comeback. Whether this was faked or real, it was poorly done. These two obviously didn’t learn what a real feud looks like from Swift and Kanye West a few years back.
3. Minaj and Swift Bury The Hatchet
This was refreshing to watch after all of the twitter drama last month. I’m so glad these two finally buried the hatchet. Future collaboration?
2. Cyrus’ surprise album
Cyrus’ performance was interesting enough on its own. But who are Cyrus’ “dead petz” and why are they on Miley’s free surprise album? Miley may have broken the internet before “Kim K,” because I couldn’t get on the website she told us about for the free download.
1. What was West talking about?
I just googled what West’s rant was actually about. For all I know he could have said something profound. I only really heard that he smoked weed before he got on stage. And then he said he was running for president? Yeah. What was that about?
