LSU loaded the bases with one out but could only bring in one run. Jordy Snikeris scored when Alcorn State pitcher Joan Ortiz hit Jared Foster, his third hit batter of the inning.

No. 8 LSU continues its domination of Alcorn State, leading 18-0 after six innings. LSU pitchers Ryan Eades and Joe Broussard have combined for nine strikeouts. LSU is tearing about Alcorn State offensively, with 13 different Tigers crossing the plate.
6th inning:
Joe Broussard allowed two base hits but retired the side to maintain the LSU shutout.
LSU continued to roll in the sixth, increasings its lead to 18-0. With one out and the bases load, Jared Foster drove home two with a double to right field. Chris Sciambra added to the lead with a two-run triple. Sciambra then scored on an Austin Nola groundout.

5th inning:
In what is likely Ryan Eades’ final inning, the sophomore pitcher walked one but maintained the shutout. Eades struck out a career-high eight batters through five innings of work.
After Evan Powell struck out to open the inning, Beau Didier, who replaced Casey Yocom at second base, belted a solo home run to right field, the first of the season for LSU. The Tigers loaded the bases with two outs, but Tyler Moore failed to deliver, grounding out to first.

4th inning:
Eades with another easy inning, retiring the Braves batters in order.
LSU failed to score in an inning for the first time. After a leadoff walk by Tyler Moore, Ty Ross flew out and Grant Dozar grounded into an inning ending double play.
LSU leads 11-0 after four.
No. 8 LSU jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and hasn’t looked back. The Tigers lead Alcorn State 11-0 after three innings. Mason Katz has four RBIs, and starting pitcher Ryan Eades has struck out a career-high seven batters through three scoreless innings.
3rd Inning:
Eades gave up his first hit and hit a batter but struck out the side to maintain the shuout. Eades now has 7 strikeouts in the game.
With runners on second and third, Ty Ross blooped one into right field to extend the Tigers’ lead to six runs with nobody out in the third. LSU added another when Raph Rhymes walked with the bases load, scoring Moore from third. Mason Katz cleared the bases with a triple down the left field line, boosting the Tigers’ lead to 10-0. LSU continued to tee off on Alcorn State pitching as Jacoby Jones hit a RBI-double to left field.
LSU leads 11-0 after third.
2nd Inning:
Eades continued to dominate striking out the leadoff man in the inning. Sophomore catcher Ty Ross caught a man stealing to end the inning.
LSU opened the inning with consecutive base hits by Grant Dozar and Tyler Hanover. Raph Rhymes drove in Dozar with a single to center field. LSU scored again with a sacrifice fly to deep center by Mason Katz to score Hanover.
LSU leads 5-0 after second.
1st Inning:
Sophomore pitcher Ryan Eades struck out the side, all looking, for an easy inning to open the game.
The Tigers scored three unearned runs thanks in part to two errors by Alcorn State. Junior second baseman Casey Yocom scored on a RBI single by sophomore center fielder Jacoby Jones. Raph Rhymes scored on a wild pitch, and Jones scored on the next atbat thanks to an error by Alcorn State shortstop Angel Rosa.
LSU leads 3-0 after first.

The rain let up early enough for No. 8 LSU (1-0) and Alcorn State (1-0) to get in the second game of each team’s season. The Tigers and Braves both defeated Air Force on Friday to open their years with victories.
