The Real Dynasty and Acacia A survived the men’s intramural semifinals Monday, setting the championship as a rematch of last year’s title game.The Real Dynasty beat Kappa Sigma, 31-0, Monday and return to the championship game with confidence.Acacia A scored with no time left on the clock to beat The Mauls, 13-12, and avoid what would have been only their second loss the past two season.”I was glad I was in the right place at the right time,” Scullin said. Mark Penny, construction management senior and wide receiver for Acacia A, said it was not their best game, but it luckily swung their way.”We did feel the pressure,” Penny said. “We stayed calm and knew we would come back.”Acacia A’s close win helped the team avoid what would have been only their second loss the past two seasons. The only other loss came against the Real Dynasty in last year’s championship.Scullin said the team is looking forward to tonight’s rematch.”We have a little bit better team this year, so I think we have a really good shot to win the championship,” Scullin said.Penny said he thinks Acacia A can beat the Real Dynasty and is not intimidated by the defending champions.”It’s a good rivalry between the teams,” Penny said. The Real Dynasty advanced past Kappa Sigma to the championship game and is aiming for their third straight title.”I think this was our most complete game we played all year,” said Van English finance senior and wide receiver for the Real Dynasty. “Adam Walker played an awesome game, and our quarterback made some great throws.”Adam Walker, mechanical engineering junior for the Real Dynasty, led the team with three touchdowns to help get to the championship game.”We’ll be just as fired up for the championship game and try to take down that third straight,” English said.
