Former LSU women’s basketball player Sylvia Fowles has won several individual honors in EuroLeague this season, the LSU Athletic Department announced Tuesday.
Fowles, a two-time State Farm All-American at LSU, picked up EuroLeague Center of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Import Player of the Year. She averaged 15.9 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game this season, leading Spartak Moscow to its third straight EuroLeague championship.
Fowles led the league in double-doubles with eight while earning first-team EuroLeague honors.
The 2007-2008 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year also won a gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, teaming up with former Lady Tiger and teammate Seimone Augustus.
