The Student Health Center still has not received a shipment of H1N1 vaccines but is taking positive steps toward delivery.
According to Julie Hupperich, associate director of the Health Center, the Department of Health and Hospitals has asked the clinic to develop a distribution plan for the inoculations.
Hupperich said she believes this signifies the Health Center is close to receiving its expected delivery.
Hupperich said the distribution plan should be presented to the DHH within the next few days.
She said the plan will be based partially on the number of students and faculty who received seasonal flu vaccinations during the late October Flu Week.
Hupperich said about 2,000 students were inoculated during Flu Week, with extra vaccines going to Veterinary School students and faculty.
She said she estimated the clinic will ask for about 3,000 H1N1 vaccines.
