The Pete Maravich Assembly Center has been home for the LSU Tigers and Lady Tigers basketball teams for 45 years. This season, however, students have access to a new student lounge, located near the southeast ramp of the PMAC. The lounge has HDTVs, a gaming system, food and drinks and comfortable seating for students.
LSU Junior A’launi Greig and her roommate found the lounge to be an enjoyable environment, and said it is likely to encourage other students to go to basketball games, who otherwise would not.
“A lot of people that don’t like basketball – they’ll come for the giveaways and the food and stuff like that, and then maybe, eventually, learn to like the sports,” Greig said.
The lounge will be open to LSU students for every home men’s basketball game, excluding December games. The lounge opens 90 minutes before tipoff and closes 30 minutes before tipoff.
