Jerry Ceppos, the dean of the Manship School of Mass Communication, is stepping down after six years of service.
The Manship School Dean is set to resign at the end of the 2017-2018 academic year.
Ceppos said he and his wife had been planning his resignation for some time now, with the hope of moving to Washington D.C., where Ceppos grew up.
Ceppos was dean of the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada before moving to take the same position in Baton Rouge. He is a member of the Accrediting Council for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, setting standards and accrediting journalism schools across the nation.
Ceppos said that, after he leaves, he will continue to contribute to the Manship School in a new position. As of now no successor has been named.
