Legendary American writer J.D. Salinger was found dead in his home in Cornish, N.H., on Wednesday. Salinger, 91, died of natural causes, according to an announcement by his literary representative, Harold Ober Associates. The agency reported Salinger’s health had been in a good state until after the new year. Salinger’s thin but influential body of work includes ‘The Catcher in the Rye’ and several short stories. Salinger had been living in seclusion in his 90-acre New Hampshire compound since 1953 when he discontinued his literary career. —- Contact Matthew Jacobs at [email protected]
