BATON ROUGE – An LSU staff member was arrested for simple assault following an incident on campus.
According to University spokesperson Ernie Ballard, Martha Chavers was arrested on Feb. 23 at the Sea Grant Building near the College of Coast and Environment.
No further information surrounding the arrest was provided by the University, despite multiple requests by TigerTV News.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Chavers has been an accountant at the University for 38 years.
Chavers was arrested for simple assault and released with a misdemeanor summons.
