Several big-name universities across college basketball have been identified for violating NCAA rules regarding illegal benefits for student athletes. Among the names of those student athletes was former LSU guard Tim Quarterman.
Yahoo! identified LSU, Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas and Michigan State, among others, as schools that paid for some of their players’ expenses.
The information was obtained by former NBA agent Andy Miller and his agency, ASM Sports. In Miller’s records six players were identified as having received upwards of $10,000, including Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz, the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft a year ago and former LSU and current G-League guard Quarterman.
Also among the players identified was former LSU forward and current Memphis Grizzlies player Jarell Martin, shown to have received over $52,000, although it is not clear whether Martin was still at LSU at the time.
We will update this story as more information becomes available.
