LSU senior tight end Dillon Gordon’s career is over.
The 6-foot-5, 308-pound tight end applied for a medical redshirt at the end of last season, after missing most of the 2015-16 season with a torn achilles tendon.
Gordon’s appeal was declined, thus forwarding his immediately implementation into the 2016 NFL Draft, which he revealed via Instagram on Friday afternoon.

LSU coach Les Miles was optimistic that Gordon would win his waiver appeal, citing that he hadn’t played much with the Tigers, only playing in 144 minutes of football last year.
Gordon — an Edgard, Louisiana, native — saw action started in three games last season and started 28-of-42 games for LSU throughout his four seasons in purple and gold.
Gordon, who was mostly seen as a pass blocking tight end, was considered a pivotal, extra piece for the Tigers offensive line while also catching seven passes for 96 yards and no touchdowns in his career as a Tiger.
