Defensive lineman Lamar Brown, the top ranked player in the state of Louisiana and the seventh ranked player nationally per 24/7, announced his commitment to LSU on Thursday.
The University High recruit chose the Tigers over Texas A&M, Miami and Texas; announcing his commitment to LSU in the U-High gym by wearing a gold LSU Baseball jersey.
“It’s something not a lot of kids from Baton Rouge get to do, honestly,” Brown said on “Sportscenter” after his commitment. “Everyone wants to play at Tiger Stadium. I’m blessed to be going to play there,”.
The 6-foot-4, 285 pound Brown became the third five-star in LSU’s 2026 class, joining wide receiver Tristen Keys and edge rusher Trenton Henderson.
Brown also became the ninth player on the defensive side and the fourth defensive lineman to commit to Brian Kelly and the Tigers, joining Trenton Henderson, DeAnthony Lafayette and fellow Lousiana-native Richard Anderson.
Brown’s commitment gives LSU the 7th ranked recruiting class in the country for 2026. Now, LSU looks to retain all 16 of their commits and potentially flip more from other schools.
Head Coach Brian Kelly and his staff look to keep locking recruits in as the early National Signing window approaches in December, before the official National Signing Day on February 4th.
