On Wednesday, Louisiana State University hosted a public safety fair on Tower Drive. The event was equipped with organizations that have intentions of keeping you safe, whether that’s learning how to create a budget or how to get CPR certified. There was something new for everyone to learn.
Some standouts of the event included the Louisiana Emergency and Fire Training facility, which taught students how to put out a fire using a fire extinguisher. A mobile blood donation center and of course, pizza and Kona ice for students who went to a certain number of booths.
The Louisiana Department of Health was also present, providing information on how to protect yourself from HIV and STDs. The Department of Health’s booth was timely, considering cases of STDs in Louisiana have risen in the past year.
