LSU Football is gearing up to face the Southeastern Lions this Saturday in Tiger Stadium coming off of their first SEC win against the Florida Gators last Saturday.
While Southeastern isn’t a conference match up for the Tigers, the expectations are high; particularly for the Purple and Gold offense who has struggled over the past three weeks to prove their ability to play complimentary football.
LSU Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier enters this game with three touchdowns on the season with Southeastern Quarterback Carson Camp sitting at three TD’s as well.
On the other side of the ball, the LSU defense is making a statement after a record-setting night against the Gators. The depth of LSU’s defense this season has been on full display with safeties Tamarcus Cooley, Dashawn Spears and A.J. Haulcy finding their rhythm and cornerbacks DJ Pickett and Mansoor Delane creating a seamless rookie-vet duo.
From the field to the court, LSU Volleyball has a big weekend ahead after sweeping the Southeastern Lions last Sunday and keeping a five-game win streak alive. The team will face No. 19 USC and UC Berkeley this weekend in a three-game series.
This won’t be the Tigers’ first meeting with a ranked opponent, as they’ve faced the Baylor Bears and SMU Mustangs once already this season.
With LSU sports in action all weekend, the Purple and Gold spirit is sure to be felt across the distance as families begin to head to Baton Rouge for the University’s Family Weekend programming.
