LSU’s Tau Kappa Epsilon chapter has been placed on interim suspension and is going through a conduct process, an LSU spokesperson told the Reveille, following criminal hazing allegations.
Earlier Thursday, four additional members of the fraternity were issued criminal citations in connection with a hazing incident that LSUPD was notified of on Oct. 13.
“At this time, we remain in communication with the university and the men of the chapter as law enforcement finalizes its investigation,” TKE’s national chapter said in a statement to the Reveille. “Upon its conclusion, we will determine and implement the appropriate actions concerning members, the chapter and university.”
Two members of the fraternity were arrested last Wednesday and one member was arrested on Friday. All three were charged with criminal hazing. This brings the total number of members alleged to have been involved with hazing to seven.
The alleged hazing incidents occurred at two different off-campus locations on Oct. 9.
