The LSU Tigers ran through the UNO Privateers with ease winning 93-58 in a well-rounded team effort.

“The main thing is trusting each other. We have no one on our team who’s selfish. We’ll give up a good shot for an even greater shot” said LSU Forward Mike Nwoko.

LSU’s offense obviously came to play scoring 93 points, but truly it was their defense that won them this game.

LSU Head Coach Matt McMahon said, “We were really concerned with Buckley and Benson. I think both those guys will be all-league guards, and we held them 5 of 22. That was critical to our defensive plan of attack.”

LSU’s offense played through Forwards Mike Nwoko and Marquel Sutton. Nwoko finished with 22, and Sutton had himself a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds.

“I actually feel like we got the best frontcourt in the nation,” said Nwoko. “I feel like we’re bigger and more skilled than most teams”.

Although Sutton had a great game tonight, he’s very new to the position he is playing.

McMahon said, “Marquel played at the four and the five last year at Omaha. He was the Summit League Player of the year and took his team to the NCAA Tournament. We brought him here with the idea of moving him to the wing to play the three”.

After this win, the Tigers’ focus shifts towards their matchup against FIU on Thursday at 7:00 pm in the PMAC.
