LSU Middle Blocker Angelina Lee is a monster on the court making 2024 All-Louisiana Second Team, but her efforts off the court are arguably even more impressive.
Over the summer, Lee completed a micro-internship with the NASA Launch Service’s Program at the Kennedy Space Center.
This program was directed at students who may not have the ideal schedules like others, so it is a perfect fit for a student-athlete like Angelina Lee.
Lee said,” I wanted to apply for it. I’ve always loved NASA, space, STEM, and everything in between, so I just kind of went for it.”
This internship definitely kept Angelina busy. She learned from NASA experts, connected with the youth in an outreach presentation, and she even witnessed a live rocket launch.
When asked about the outreach presentation Lee said, “We had to give an outreach presentation at the local high school. It was about what we learned, but it was also about us and our journeys as student athletes.”
Lee also feels direction and clarity into what she is going to do next. She takes her academics very seriously, and she finally has an idea of what she will do after college.
Lee and the rest of the LSU Tiger Volleyball Team will begin SEC Tournament Play on November 21st at 6 p.m. against the Ole Miss Rebels.
