LSU’s offensive leaders Ava Galligan and Ida Hermannsdottir have been honored by the United Soccer coaches with selections to the 2025 All-Southeast Region Teams, earning the first All-Region honors of their careers.
Galligan was selected to the Second Team, while Hermannsdottir earned a spot on the Fourth Team. Together, the duo combined for 21 goals, 11 assists, and 53 points, driving LSU to a 15-6-4 record, a top-25 national ranking and the program’s first NCAA Sweet 16 appearance.
Galligan, a junior from Ashburn, Virginia, delivered her most productive season yet with 11 goals and four assists. Six of her goals were game-winners, and she scored or assisted in 10 different victories. Known for her attacking instincts, Galligan led LSU with 59 shots and 27 shots on goal, helping the Tigers average over two goals per match.
With 20 career goals, Galligan has established herself as one of the SEC’s most dangerous forwards and a rising star in LSU Soccer history.
Hermannsdottir, a senior from Iceland, capped her LSU career with 10 goals and a team-high seven assists. Her 29 career goals rank fifth in program history, and she set a single-season record with five penalty conversions.
A consistent presence in the midfield, Hermannsdottir logged 1,838 minutes and was one of only four Tigers to start all 25 matches. She recorded three multi-goal games, including a five-point performance against UC Davis, and scored key goals in SEC play against Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Kentucky.
Hermannsdottir’s efficiency stood out with a .625 shots-on-goal percentage, the highest among LSU players with 20+ attempts.
Behind Galligan and Hermannsdottir, LSU produced 52 goals—the most in over a decade—and 41 assists, second-most in the SEC. Their leadership and production cemented them as one of the nation’s top attacking duos and elevated LSU Soccer onto the national stage.
