Reported first by Matt Zenitz, Frank Wilson will be heading to Oxford after the Texas Bowl.
As the interim coach of the Tigers, Wilson took charge after Brian Kelly was fired following a 49-25 loss to Texas A&M, finishing off the 2025 season with a record of 2-2, helping LSU to a 7-5 record.
Wilson will join Pete Golding’s staff in Oxford as the Rebels new running back coach. Wilson has been a part of the LSU staff since 2021, and has spent over nine years in Baton Rouge total in two stints.
His first stint in Baton Rouge was from 2010 to 2015, which then left where he took positions at UTSA and McNeese State as a head coach. Wilson returned back to LSU in 2021, in the same role as he once had in 2010.
Wilson’s biggest impact is on the recruiting trail. Wilson is widely regarded as one of top recruiters, especially in his home state of Louisiana. His impact as a recruiter has been seen over the years in Death Valley from bringing in five-star recruits such as Leonard Fournette, Dominick McKinley, and more recently Lamar Brown, also bringing in other notable names such as Harlem Berry, Harold Perkins, Anthony Johnson, Malachi Dupre, and Jarvis Landry.
