Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry declared a state of emergency on Thursday in preparation for Winter Storm Fern.
The storm is expected to bring ice and snow to much of the southeast region of the United States, including north Louisiana. While Baton Rouge is not expected to receive ice, the storm will bring freezing temperatures.
“We are preparing for significant impacts across the state starting as early as Friday in our northwestern parishes,” Landry said. “I beg you, please take this serious.”
