Highlights for LSU’s victory over ranked Penn St.
This was a featured matchup, as both teams were ranked inside the top 15. LSU is No. 3 in the country, and Penn St. is No. 14.
The teams displayed a very entertaining meet, much to the delight of the 11,000 fans packed into the PMAC.
For LSU, Kailin Chio, Kylie Coen and Amari Drayton led the way; however, it ultimately was a whole team effort, as LSU outscored Penn St. on every rotation. The closest event was the beam, where LSU edged out the Nittany Lions 49.225-49.200.
The highest individual score of the night was awarded to the former sophomore, Kailin Chio with a score of 9.975.
Due to performances such as this one, Penn St. simply was unable to keep up. Chio was spectacular in all events, especially vault, as Junior Madison Ulrich spearheaded the Tigers’ score on the bars with a 9.950.
With this victory, LSU has now successfully defended their home floor 17 times in a row, and they look to keep that streak alive Friday against an SEC foe, Auburn.
