LSU announced the hiring of Meg Casper Sunstrom as the new chief of communications officer for the university system Sunday.
Sunstrom was selected by LSU President Wade Rousse who said Sunstrom’s experience will help the university’s effort to push LSU across the state and nation.
“She believes in LSU and shares our ambition of making LSU one of the nation’s elite institutions,” Rousse said in the press release.
As chief, Sunstrom will provide guidance and oversight for LSU System’s communications. This includes reputation and crisis management, media relations and brand management.
Sunstrom recently worked as the chief communications officer for the Louisiana State Legislature where the office received national recognition for its launch of a “one-of-its kind” app for legislative information, according to the press release.
She is also a graduate from the Manship School of Journalism and has worked for the Louisiana Department of Education, the Board of Regents and the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office.
“Louisiana deserves the best our LSU System can offer,” Sunstrom said in the press release. “I could not be more excited to be a part of that effort.”
