LSU Students Catch Flights, Not Beads, After Mardi Gras
As Mardi Gras wraps up on campus, LSU students are setting their sights beyond Baton Rouge. LSU recently hosted its biannual Study Abroad Fair, giving students the chance to explore international programs for summer, semester-long, and year-long study.
The fair featured king cake, free t-shirts, and an appearance from Mike the Tiger while showcasing opportunities ranging from destinations like Thailand and Hawaii to international internship programs. Students met with advisors to learn how studying abroad could fit into their academic plans without delaying graduation.
According to LSU Study Abroad, 247 students are currently signed up for the faculty-led study abroad programs this summer, a 15% increase compared to this time last year. Program leaders say expanded offerings and increased outreach on social media have helped grow student interest.
As global learning opportunities continue to expand, more tigers are choosing to take their education overseas. Students interested in studying abroad can find more information through MyLSU or by following @LSUStudyAbroad on Instagram.
