The LSU Tigers women’s gymnastics faced the Arkansas Razorbacks womens gymnastics for their Senior Night in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The Tigers delivered another winning performance, defeating Arkansas with a final score of 198.075–197.100.
The meet was highlighted by an outstanding performance from standout sophomore Kailin Chío, who was unstoppable throughout the night. Chío earned three perfect 10.000s in every event she competed in, building momentum and continuing her undeniably remarkable season with the Tigers.
The Tigers worked to build momentum early in the meet and maintained control through each rotation. On beam, junior Konnor McClain led the Tigers with a 9.950, while Madison Ulrich added a strong 9.900 to keep LSU ahead of the Razorbacks scoring in the second rotation.
The Tigers continued their strong showing in the third rotation on the floor. Chío once again impressed the judges, earning a perfect 10.000, while McClain followed with a 9.925 and Kaliya Lincoln contributed a 9.900 to extend LSU’s lead.
The final rotation brought one of the night’s most upsetting moments for the tiger fans. Lincoln placed an impressive 9.975 score , which had many in the arena believing it could have been another perfect 10. With the deduction being placed due to judges believing she did not stick her landing.
Despite the disappointment of the deduction, the performance closed out the meet leaving the Tigers with a win.
Chío ended the night with yet another perfect 10.000, marking her third perfect score of the meet and solidifying LSU’s victory for their seniors.
Arkansas remained competitive throughout the meet, highlighted by strong performances from Morgan Price and Jocelyn Roberson, who each earned 9.950 and 9.975 respectively in their routines.
LSU celebrated its seniors in front of a packed home arena while continuing to build momentum as the postseason approaches. The gymnasts said this win was a team effort fuelled by dedication.
