LSU Softball players Tatum Clopton and Ci’ella Pickett spoke to the media following the teams’ 7-2 win over SEC rivals Texas A&M on Monday night.
Clopton started and finished the game for the Tigers with a dominant performance, only allowing one earned run over her seven innings of work striking out six Aggies while only allowing five hits.
“I was never worried, I was never concerned,” Clopton said regarding her performance thanks to the run support from her team.
Pickett had a great day at the plate going 2/3 with two hits and a RBI. The designated player delivered for the Tigers in the 4th inning when she drove a RBI single to extend the Tigers lead to 2-0.
“Whether I fail or succeed I got to put in the work, so I think I find peace in that,” Pickett said regarding her 2-hit performance helping LSU come out on top.
Clopton and Pickett helped LSU secure their first win in conference play after a shaky 0-5 start.
They will look to stay hot in Columbia, South Carolina, where they start a three-game series with the Gamecocks on Friday, March 20th.
