LSU Women’s Basketball is preparing for their first round of dancing as they look ahead to the matchup against No. 15 Jacksonville.
The Tigers finished the regular season 27-5, and 14-4 in conference play. The team was led by Flau’Jae Johnson, Mikaylah Williams and Jada Richard on offense with South Carolina transfer Milaysia Fulwiley making big time contributions on defense.
Head Coach Kim Mulkey knows that the entire team will need to be on their A-game with tough competition on deck.
An important piece of the roster, especially heading into March, will be guard and bench play for the Tigers. Mulkey is known for her guard development and has a number of talented guard on the bench who have shown the part they can all play in the success of the team.
“So certainly they have to play good, and the good thing is we have that bench.” said Mulkey when asked about the impact of her star guards Fulwiley, Willams, and Johnson. “One may have a good game, and okay then the other one may not be”
“They all bring different things, different styles a little bit. They all can score the ball, that’s for sure”
Mulkey’s trio and the rest of the Tiger squad will play the first two rounds in the tournament in the PMAC, starting of with the Jacksonville Dolphins on Friday, March 20th at 5 p.m.
