LSU Women’s Basketball Alumna, Flau’jae Johnson was presented the Key to Baton Rouge by current Mayor-President of Baton Rouge, Sid Edwards on Saturday, April 4.
Apr. 4 will now be recognized in Baton Rouge as “Big 4 Day” in honor of Johnson and the legacy she has left behind.
The special recognition event was hosted in front of Baton Rouge City Hall to honor Johnson for her achievements on the court as well as off the court within the community.
Tiger fans had the opportunity to hear some words of encouragement from city officials, family, friends, and coaches of Johnson ahead of the presentation.
Flau’jae then posed for photos and signed autographs for fans in attendance. Including the signing of a motor vehicle belonging to a die-hard fan.
Johnson briefly spoke to the media and reflected on her career as an LSU Tiger, stating, “I’m an alumni now so I’m definitely going to support the Tigers any chance that I get.”
She also added on how she plans to continue her uplift and support within the Baton Rouge community sharing, “I feel like I’ve laid roots here, so I’ll just continue to make things better for the people I love down here.”
The event concluded with a police escort for Johnson and family.
Fans can expect to next see Johnson during the 2026 WNBA Draft which will take place on Monday, April 13, in New York City.
