Cole Landry, a sophomore at LSU, is involved in an organization called the UP21 foundation. It’s a non-profit organization that raises money to benefit those with Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome.
“The foundation started in my family with my Aunt Cassie,” Landry said. “They had a daughter, Brennan, who was born with Down Syndrome and just seeing her everyday, just seeing how she would interact with people or how she would light up a room with her smile, it just hit me how i wanted to give back.”
Cole and his cousin Tyler started the Up21 Fishing Tournament to help spread the word about the foundation and raise money. The tournament began last year and was a huge success.
At the tournament, they raised over $13,000. The second annual tournament is on November 1 in Lacombe, Louisiana at bayou adventures and it costs 40 dollars to register.
