Given the amount of freshman offensive talent LSU will see on the field this year, some names get lost in the buzz. But, at LSU’s media day. head coach Les Miles specifically mentioned the name of one wide receiver that Tiger fans will come to know soon enough.
“I can tell you one thing…this Trey Quinn…he’s another guy that deserves mention,” Miles said.
The six-foot receiver from Barbe High School has been in the shadow of #1 WR recruit and fellow team mate Malachi Dupre for much of the off-season. But, with both Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry now in the NFL, LSU will have plenty of work for both incoming freshmen receivers.
“It’s all about getting experience right now and learning what the next level is like,” Quinn told reporters.
The learning curve is steep at this level, transitioning from high school to the SEC, but Miles says Quinn is moving along without a hitch.
“He learns quickly, he’s very talented…I can expect him to be one of those freshmen.”
Quinn will be “one of those freshmen” that will be expected to contribute right away in this new-look Tiger offense from the first snap.
