After the recap of last week’s episode, we’re thrown straight in to The Flash saving a couple from a car explosion. The couple thanks him and insert title credits.
Caitlin says today was the fastest he’s ever run but Wells says he still has potential. Cisco wants to celebrate but Barry has movie night with Joe and Caitlin wants to pass.
Cisco tells Caitlin he’s still looking for Ronnie thanks to Rathaway’s tip last week. She says she’s moved on but Cisco thinks otherwise.
A woman is shown telephoning into Iron Heights prison to break someone out. She teleports herself in and out of the prison with her apparent boyfriend who finds it cool she has this power.
The next morning, Barry and Joe are at the scene getting their super sleuth on when Barry’s dad sees him inside Iron Heights. His dad is quickly pulled away and Barry thanks Joe for getting the guard to bring him that way.
The convict couple is shown back at the woman’s place. She’s trying to convince her boyfriend to leave the city with her but he still owes someone some money and won’t leave until that debt is paid.
Over at STAR Labs, the team is running DNA from the crime scene and find the woman, Shawna and decide to use her to find her boyfriend, Clay.
Cisco makes a trip to the containment unit to see Rathaway to talk about Ronnie. Rathaway gives him the runaround saying he won’t help until he gets out. He says he’ll wait until Cisco is ready because he knows he wants to find Ronnie.
Over at CC Jitters, Barry and Iris are talking about her fear of losing her job unless The Flash does something great. Barry reassures her everything will be alright.
Barry and Joe head back to Iron Heights where Barry’s dad has information for them regarding the breakout. Barry tries to convince him to no longer play cop.
Cisco releases Rathaway and the two head to an area where a bomb shadow of Martin Stein is left on the wall. Cisco doesn’t believe him and tries to put him back in the pipeline. Of course, Rathaway puts up a fight until Cisco uses his sound technology against him. Rathaway agrees to help and says he’ll need to be uncuffed for the next location.
Barry meets up with Caitlin at STAR Labs where she begins to vent about her lack of life outside of STAR. Barry agrees he has no life either and the two share a moment until the convict couple shows up to rob an armored truck.
The Flash shows up and Shawna begins to play super powered tag with him. Clay tries to shoot The Flash in the back of the head, but he stops the bullet in time. The couple unfortunately gets away with the money.
Back at STAR, Barry and company try to plan a way to stop Shawna and Caitlin calls her by her comic book villain name, Peek-a-boo. He remembers he has to go help Iris but when he gets there, she’s on her way to dinner with Eddie and his mom. He calls Caitlin to see what bars the convict couple frequented and she decides to join him on the “mission.”
The two tell their sob stories of their relationships and Caitlin proceeds to drink and open a tab. Barry’s face indicates a long night ahead.
Cisco and Rathaway are at a lab looking at video tape of Dr. Stein and it is finally revealed that Dr. Stein is in Ronnie’s body. Rathaway uses the exposition to escape.
Drunk Caitlin convinces Barry to sing karaoke with her. The two end up singing “Summer Lovin'” and go back to close their tabs. While Caitlin is in the bathroom, Barry meets a girl named Linda and the two share a little chemistry and she leaves her number.
Caitlin returns in time to let Barry drag her outside to throw up.
The convict couple is shown trying to pay off their debt but the guy suggests they should keep working together. The cops raid the place and Clay is shot in the crossfire but Shawna takes him away before an arrest can be made.
Caitlin is shown still drunk as Barry walks her into her apartment. The two talk about Barry’s encounter with Linda. Caitlin is drunkenly half naked and Barry quickly changes her into bed clothes. She asks him to stay until she falls asleep and he does.
The next morning, Caitlin is 100 percent hungover but remembers karaoke. Wells has his angry face on as Cisco tells Barry and Caitlin that Rathaway escaped. He says he was doing it for himself. He blames Ronnie’s sort-of death on himself. Caitlin reassures him that he did the right thing by closing the blast doors when Ronnie asked him to.
Jumping quickly back to Peek-a-boo, Wells discovers she can’t teleport to places she can’t see. Barry then gets a call saying his father has been stabbed in Iron Heights.
Turns out Dad was still giving more information to Joe including the raid location. Mr. Allen says he just wants to help but Barry wants a name. The Flash takes the assaulter, Julius, out of the prison and threatens extra jail time if he doesn’t give Barry a location on the convict couple.
He finds them following an armored car and follows them to a tunnel under construction. Peek-a-boo and The Flash get into it again and she seems to have the upper hand until he breaks all of the lights in the tunnel leaving her powerless. Like a bad boyfriend should, Clay left her to rot.
Peek-a-boo is now locked in the pipeline with the other villains. She says despite Clay’s deserting, she still loves him.
Barry and Caitlin agree its time for them to move on from their previous flames and share another moment.
The Flash meets up with Iris to give her information about Clay Parker to help her job. She sneaks a picture of The Flash.
Barry shows up at her job where Linda, the bar girl, also works. The two are going on a lunch date.
Barry meets up with his dad after and he’s holding a picture of a front page Flash article. His dad begins putting the elements together to suggest he knows Barry’s secret. Dad calls him a hero and says he’s proud of him.
Two men are shown in a sewer investigating a power issue when they see writing on the wall saying “Grodd.” A gorilla then comes from behind them and drags them into the darkness ending the episode.
