Associate Vice President and Head of Human Resources A.G. Monaco announced his retirement late Tuesday night after recent records requests caused administrators to review his emails and their tone, said Jason Droddy, interim Vice President for Strategic Communications.
“A.G. Monaco has done a lot of good work on behalf of LSU,” Droddy said. “Rather than have the emails become a distraction from the good work that university staff is performing, Dr. Monaco decided to retire.”
Monaco’s retirement will be effective July 1, 2018. He has decided to go on leave until that date.
WAFB reported that Monaco’s leave of absence came following the release of emails they requested during an investigation.
The emails contain multiple uses of profane language about fellow employees, the media and others, according to the report from WAFB
