Teen arrested for taking State owned vehicle
On July 14, 19-year-old Joseph Guillory of Maringouin, LA was arrested by LSUPD and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison, according to LSUPD spokesperson Lt. Kevin Scott. Scott said officers observed Guillory commit a traffic violation on South Stadium Drive while in a white Ford truck. Officers stopped Guillory on Nicholson Drive and discovered the vehicle was owned by the State of Louisiana and the custodial owner was Guillory’s father, Scott said. Guillory’s father had not given him permission to use the vehicle and Guillory was arrested on counts of unauthorized use of a movable vehicle, careless operation of a vehicle and lack of a driver’s license, Scott said.
Man arrested by BRPD on LSUPD fugitive warrant
Jason Jenkins, 34, of Baton Rouge, was arrested July 14 by BRPD officers as a fugitive wanted by LSUPD for monetary instrument abuse, Scott said. LSUPD filed an arrest warrant for Jenkins after the LSU Accounting Services contacted LSUPD regarding two fraudulent checks on June 24. The checks were cashed at Regions Bank and the Bank of Zachary, Scott said. One of the checks was paid to the order of and endorsed by Jenkins, who later cashed the check at the Friendly Food Mart on Florida Blvd, Scott said. The Friendly Food Mart confirmed Jenkins’ driver’s license number matched that of the man who presented the check. On July 14, BRPD arrested Jenkins and he was subsequently booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
