LSUPD charges individual with DWI
LSUPD charged an individual not affiliated with the University Feb. 14 with a second-offense driving while intoxicated and careless operation of a motor vehicle.
Lt. Lawrence Rabalais said an officer allegedly saw Tam Chu, 29, 9230 Tracy Avenue, cross the center double yellow lines and swerve past the outside white line in his vehicle.
The officer initially pulled Chu over for violating a stop sign but then detected an odor of alcohol.
After Chu performed poorly on a field sobriety test, the officer brought him to the LSUPD station, Rabalais said.
Chu took a breathalyzer test and registered .153, he said.
Police booked Chu into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
