The Southeastern Lions were the first to score. They ended the top of the fifth inning with one run.
LSU continued to struggle with putting points on the board and Southeastern scored another run. In the bottom of the sixth, the bases were loaded and McKenzie Redoutey was at bat. Redoutey was struck out, but the hit was enough for the Tigers to score another run.
From there, the Fighting Tigers gained the momentum they needed and ended the inning 2-2. It quickly came to an end when Southeastern’s midfielder caught Jadyn Laneaux’s hit.
Bottom of the seventh and the game remained tied. LSU would have to score one run or go into overtime. Edwards’ hit did just the trick. She hit it to centerfield and gave Avery Hodges just enough time to run home. Hodges had the game winning run and the game concluded 3-2.
