LSU football’s defensive line coach, Bo Davis, is expected to be hired by the New Orleans Saints for the same position.
Luke Johnson, a reporter at the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reported early Thursday morning that Kellen Moore is set to hire Davis as a part of the first-year head coach’s staff.
Davis is returning to the NFL after just one season in Baton Rouge, where he turned around a very dark spot on the Tigers’ roster heading into the 2024 season.
Davis joined the Tigers staff as the highest-paid position coach in college football in 2024 after spending three seasons at Texas. While there, he helped the Longhorns reach the CFP in 2023 with one of the nation’s top defenses.
Davis is responsible for the commitments of Quinnen Williams, Daron Payne and Jalen Hurts during his collegiate coaching career.
Davis played for LSU in the early 1990s. Following his graduation, he was a graduate assistant with the football program.
Additionally, he was a member of the strength and conditioning staff when the Tigers won the national championship in 2003.
The Saints added Davis as another key piece of this star-studded staff in the first year under Kellen Moore. Some notable names include Doug Nussmeier, former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback coach; Brandon Staley, former Los Angeles Chargers head coach; and Peter Sirmon, former Cal defensive coordinator.
