Home ticket’s Barousse and Harrell win vote to be next LSU student body president, vice president

New LSU student body president and vice president Ben Barousse and Anna Katherine Harrell pose for a photo after their election win.

Ben Barousse and Anna Katherine Harrell were announced as the winners of the 2026-2027 LSU Student Government election Thursday.

The ticket’s policies include reforming the AI Task Force, better mental health support for students and improving accessibility on campus for students. They have reached out to Disability Services on campus and hope to work with them during their term.

Barousse and Harrell will officially begin their term following the spring semester.

The election results were originally scheduled for March 25, but they were postponed due to pending SG lawsuits that have now been resolved.

I joined the Reveille because I wanted to strengthen my reporting skills and gain experience during my time at LSU.

What do you hope to do after graduation?

After graduation, I hope to gain more experience and become a reporter for a newspaper or a fashion magazine.
