Update 11:55 a.m.: Gun shots that rang out Thursday night near Edward Gay Apartments were the product of two men shooting at each other on West Roosevelt St., according to Baton Rouge Police Department Cpl. L’Jean McKneely.
One man struck the other in his midsection, but the wounded man is not in serious condition. No arrests were made, and the shooter is still unidentified after he left the scene.

Gun shots were reported on West Roosevelt Street near the Edward Gay Apartments early Friday morning, according to an emergency text message sent at 12:29 a.m.
The LSU Police Department advised anyone in the area to find a safe place.
