LSU and Texas are set to play a scrimmage on Saturday in Houston, according to a report by hookem.com.
However, LSU could not confirm the report.
The Tigers lost to Tulane 84-74 in an exhibition game on Oct. 31 in New Orleans. After the game, LSU coach Will Wade said he was extremely disappointed in his defensive effort, and went so far as to call himself an “idiot” in his press conference on Thursday for relying on certain players.
The reported scrimmage against Texas will be the final tune-up game for LSU before it opens the season on Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. against Alcorn State in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
The scrimmage will reunite Texas coach Shaka Smart and Wade, who was an assistant under Smart at VCU from 2009-2013.
