The No. 11 LSU Tigers softball team finished its season in the Super Regional with two losses to the No. 6 Florida State Seminoles on Saturday.
LSU (45-17) won 6-5 on Friday before dropping two games on Sunday 8-5 and 3-1.
The losses snapped a three year streak of Women’s College World Series appearances for the Tigers.
LSU senior pitchers Carley Hoover and and Allie Walljasper shined for the Tigers in the series, as they did all season for LSU, but ultimately the Tigers could not overcome the Seminoles hot hitting.
Florida State junior Carsyn Gordon hit a home run in all three games for the Seminoles to secure the win for the home team.
This was the second straight year LSU was sent to Tallahassee for the Super Regional, although the Tigers won in three last season.
