The LSU track and field teams proved to be the most prolific college
program on Friday at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
Friday’s action featured a total of nine LSU qualifiers, with six
individuals and three relay teams earning a berth in Saturday’s
championship competition.
LSU’s nine qualifiers are the most by any collegiate program at the meet.
Both the men’s and women’s 4×100 meter relay teams qualified in the
morning session while the women’s 4×40 -meter relay squad added
another berth in the finals later in the day.
Sophomore Kimberlyn Duncan and junior Semoy Hackett will each
represent the No. 2 Lady Tigers in the 100-meter dash final on
Saturday after running sub-11.20 second qualifying times Friday.
The men’s squad was led by junior Barrett Nugent’s qualifying time of
13.52 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and the 10.19-second 100 meter
dash junior Keyth Talley posted.
