Louisiana has been seeing a rise in cases of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis. As a college campus, LSU is an area where these diseases can spread easily.
Public health tutor Alec Grandt said the rising rates of STDs is alarming and gave advice on how students can take precaution.
“Students can get condoms, practice abstinence, and get regularly tested for STDs,” Alec said.
Students at LSU can go to the Student Health Center to receive testing for various sexually transmitted diseases.
