Redshirt Freshman Utility Tori Edwards has been named SEC Freshman of the Year.
Edwards becomes the third player in program history to earn the honor and is the only All-SEC first-team honoree for the Tigers this season.
Edwards has put together an undeniable season as she currently stands as the program’s all time single-season record holder with a .844 slugging percentage accompanied by 18 home runs, including four grand slams. She ranks No. 4 in a single season with 71 RBI, No. 6 with .510 on base percentage and No. 6 with a .403 batting average.
On the defense, Edwards locks down first base with 319 putouts, ranking No. 4 in the SEC along with a .988 fielding percentage with eight assists and four errors.
Three other Tigers have earned All-SEC honors selections. Catcher Maci Bergeron, pitcher Sydney Berzon, and infielder Danieca Coffey were all honored on the 2025 All-SEC Second Team.
Bergeron earned the first postseason award of her career after numerous career single-season highs. Including a .373 batting average on 59 hits, nine home runs, 36 runs, 40 walks and a .498 on-base percentage.
This is Berzon’s third all-SEC selection. This season she is 17-7 in the circle with a 2.56 ERA, ranking 8th in the SEC. She’s thrown 99 strikeouts in 131.0 innings pitched with five shutouts, two saves and an opposing batting average of .227.
Senior Danieca Coffey is having a great comeback season after a leg injury cut her junior season short. She began her senior campaign with a 39-game reached base streak and a 25-game hitting streak. She has a .364 batting average, a team high 64 hits, 52 runs, 46 walks and 38 RBI.
